A wide range of carpets representing the finest examples from mosques, museums, and special collections, have been studied, photographed, dated and their motif's described. The carpets covered in this project vary in age, with the oldest dating back to the 13th century. Each example is shown in a full page color photo with a smaller color pattern diagram and a labeled photo provided on the opposite page showing details of the patterns. Examples are described with a model name, pattern code, dimensions, museum or collection it belongs to, date (century) and region of origin, and a short paragraph of description of pattern motifs and purpose. Text is in English and Turkish. An index is included at the back.
