Written by George S. Patton, Jr., "Diary of the Instructor in Swordsmanship" expands on the teaching points of his earlier publication, "Saber Exercise 1914 Training Manual in Swordsmanship" with more detailed explanations and illustrations. This Diary also contains rare photographs of a very young Patton modeling his various recommended tactics and techniques. Patton wrote both training manuals while he was still a young lieutenant and fencing instructor at the Mounted Service School in Fort Riley, Kansas. Both are meticulously reproduced by us at Dale Street Books in their entirety, including all lessons, original photographs, and sketches. They are rare glimpses into the mind of a young officer destined for greatness. You can almost hear his battlefield commanders voice, a little younger perhaps, but still unmistakably Patton.
